What is DOT/NHTSA Approval?
The US DOT (Department of Transportation) regulates the rules and guidelines that oversee all vehicles that travel throughout the country. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) ensures that roads and highways are safe to drive on. Together, these two agencies test the accuracy and reliability of many related devices, including breathalyzers (in the prevention of alcohol-related vehicle accidents).
All of our flagship products (AlcoMate Premium, AlcoMate Prestige, AlcoMate Core, AlcoScan AL2500, AlcoMate AccuCell) have been approved by the DOT and NHTSA, which qualifies their accuracy as suitable for law enforcement use.
What is US Coast Guard Certification?
The US Coast Guard regulates domestic and international vessels in US waters, and requires that all such vessels carry DOT approved devices on board. We strongly recommend the AlcoMate Premium for use on board marine vessels, due to the fact that it does not require traditional mail-back calibration service (Pre-Calibrated Replaceable Sensor Module Technology).
How can I receive training for my breathalyzer?
